Very tired after endless updating of my PC, and a big weekend involving Rave Reunion. Those Photos will be up soon. Meantime, I have put the beginnings of my new stuff up, oldies will come with more energy. I am a real beginner and untrained, so feedback would be great!
I have been here but a few days, but already something is becoming clear... The world is not such a bad place, despite the fact that we keep killing each other and leaving poo everywhere. I have witnessed the impossible, played out with pencils and brushes and cameras and textiles and sculptures and and and and friggin fur covered drills....
I wanted to say a sweeping and continuous thank you to all that have encouraged and supported my entry into the world beyond weekend doodling, I already feel super inspired and filled with pride as many of you add my work to hot new galleries and provide me with critiques and ideas.

Only here a week and almost at 500 pageviews. Very humbling and extremely encouraging. Thanks to my small group of faithful watchers and all those who have advised and encouraged me. Repeating myself a little but I am just stoked. My day off, so going to bake out and work on a Jamie Lee Curtis Halloween montage for the actresses comp. PAINT ON!
Thanks for the grand grand! And as some of you who visit the forums or my faves may have noticed, I have started critiquing. I have many young followers, so I warn you I am critiquing erotics in depth in some cases. Adult situations.

I'm pretty sure we've all seen zombie films & games, but what will you do if your were face with these brainthirsty zombies?
As for I, I'll scavenge any guns & ammo I can find and spartan those damn zombies 24/7 and maybe save a few survivors but, at most, I'll just keep fighting until I get turned. Oh yeah, did I mention I'll build myself a fort. Forts are awesome.
*Yes I used spartan as a verb.

Know Your Mushrooms Review by Ami Mee
As a film fan, I attended this Australian premiere of Know Your Mushrooms (held at the Red Rattler in Marrickville as part of the Canadian Film Festival in Sydney) with only minimal knowledge of the film and of Ron Mann. I knew he was the guy who made Grass, an important "weed movie" (NOT of the giggly Half Baked or Evil Bong variety), and a mate of the iconic Jim Jaramusch. That was certainly enough for me to rock up with a spring in my step.
Ron was introduced by the host, and explained something of the film, his unfortunate bout of benign vertigo (poor guy was dizzy on a one foot high sta
Just noticed I have had over 1500 pageviews, thanks to all who watched or have just dropped by!
OK, so due to my current living conditions, I am fairly limited to what I can do online so I am writing this quickly at a friend's house. For Halloween this year I will be attending the Australian premiere of Zombieland on Halloween night, and my friend Joc and I will be donning some makeup, latex and a shite-load of fake blood for a laugh and to try and win prizes at the festival.
I have just gotten some rough sketch lines together from some classic horror movies for stickers, so I should drop those tonight and have some pics up soon. When my sleepy friend wakes up, I will finally upload my Evil Dead and Phantasm fanarts and whatever is
Well, it's the day before payday, so I was planning a quiet night in, but lo and behold, I check my email and I have scored a double pass to see the film Coffin Rock tonight! From the producers of Wolf Creek, this psycho-chiller was not even picked up by a cinema distributor in Australia.... It was due for release in late October but must have been canned along the way, so I am lucky to be one of a cinema-full of people that get to see it on the big screen here. Might post a review if I can be bothered.
I am planning to finally get a DA subscription so I can clean up my gallery which is an absolute mess - thanks to everyone who visits and
This year the Japanese film festival in Sydney hosted a great number of films from different genres, most of which were 2009 releases, and most of which had never been screened in Australia before. I managed to get along to four of these films, which were all shown with subtitles (thank goodness!) in a good sized cinema with very good sound. Here's my first review:
Kamogawa Horumo (Battle League in Kyoto)
Of all the films I saw, this one had the least description in the program, a couple of lines and a small picture, so I really had no idea what I was in for.
This is a light-hearted and silly comedy film about University students in t
My second review from the Sydney Japanese Film Festival, held last week.
Pandemic (Kansen Retto)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1185654
Once again, when I bought the ticket for this film, I had little idea what to expect, as the program provided meager information apart from the fact that, as the name suggests this is a medical disaster film.
This in mind, I went into the film with a fairly low expectation, remembering such movies as Outbreak, and the only Asian germy movie I'd seen in recent times was Infection, which was just bizarre.
Pandemic completely took me by surprise, it didn't just hold my attention, it had me gripped and
After posting up some spur-of-the-moment rhymes in an attempt to win a subscription, my new buddy :icondbestarchitect: liked this yule foolishness so much it snowballed (pun intended) into this, the combination of 3 posts:

I ended up winning the Xmas competition for the rap I featured in my last journal entry, and am now the proud owner of a 3 month subscription, thanks so much to the :iconCH-WAS: group for giving me this wonderful prize. It's been a busy time for me. I have started the new year with a new job, the first time I have worked in some time after some difficult years. It's with a pest control company and pays very well but is fairly stressful so I haven't had too much energy for new works. I will find the balance eventually though. I have had to end a difficult relationship as well, so things have been emotionally up and down. Most of this was temporarily solved with a weekend trip to Canberra to visit my bestie deviant :iconwrong-move: which was fantastic to say the least. I revisited my mis-spent youth with drinking adventures and a graffiti tour, amongst lots of
OK, so the last couple of weeks have been a bit strange, lots of ups and downs. Thanks to all my new watchers and friends, and the several groups that have invited me and displayed my work! This site does so much to keep me motivated. I'm happy to see I just passed 3500 pageviews and 1600 comments. I'll keep this brief as I will likely replace it soon with a big feature of some sort.
In the meantime....

Hi there anyone who may be reading this.... (I don't think too many of my "watchers" actually watch me lol)
Just updated my subby for another 3 months, and am planning to really sort out my gallery in terms of quality of the images etc, things got a bit messy there so should clean up!
Just made it through a tough couple of weeks after busting pretty hard and using nasty drugs, have made a full recovery and looking forward not back. I now have connected with a very good counselor to help me with these ongoing issues.
I continue to think about new art ideas, and want to spend some of my money on supplies so I can start some new things,
I've been away for 2 days, and was so pleased to have 49 messages, including 3 faves, 2 new watchers and my very first critique for my latest deviation Devil Inside! Thanks to ALL who have supported my work so much, I'm sure you can see my development and improvement. Why is this so important?
....
I have just had a pretty heavy couple of days which has included preventing someone from jumping from a balcony (4 times in one night), finding out 2 seperate friends of mine were victims of serious abuse, and reuniting with a woman I desperately love but is heading in an ever downward spiral, and having to let go. I returned to a mattress infe
:icondiegoidef: is great. I started watching him recently, and his work impresses, inspires and amazes me. So late last night I decided to critique his latest piece, Sleepless Night
:thumb159272123:
So check it out folks! I plan to do some more of these, it helps me to understand the deeper levels of why I appreciate a particular piece. If you can receive critiques and would like my opinion, please let me know.
Anyway, besides that life goes on, I am hoping to get out of my current residence next week, in fact I more or less have to because my good young friend Leigh is coming up to Sydney to be with me and get away from her increasing
So my infection has gotten worse, I now have a hole in my ear drum and it's all pus-filled and gross, and hurts like hell. I will have to go to the hospital and see a specialist if it does not improve in thge next day or 2.
On the upside, i just did some work over the last few days for my old job, and the boss said he'll probably get me back in for some more hours, so that's a real positive. I'm the only guy left in Sydney that knows the company's services and systems well and certainly I can sell so i think he likes the fact that I'm free for him at the moment.
My friend Leigh left earlier this week after two weeks of fun and friendshi
Very quick one. Ear finally got treated after 10 straight days of agony followed by 8 hour wait in emergency. Involved sucking the pus and FUNGUS out of my ear drum which was so painful it was euphoric, I was laughing my head off it hurt so much! Now deaf in left ear, hopefully massive hole in ear drum will heal otherwise may need operation.
DOUCHE-HOLE who gave me my laptop came annd took it back, and called the cops on me claiming it was stolen. This guy is absolute scum. Beats his partner, and puts her down constantly (she's a lovely gal too) - also like father like son, as I found out his father is a rapist! Anyway, I'm just going to s
Just a quick one as I have just spent 5 hours online whoring about and just trying to keep my mind off my now glued-up-with-ointment ear. After a trip to the hospital yesterday for more incredibly painful suction (NOT the good kind), doc said that I am at the stage where if the infection does not stop very soon, I will have to start treatments that will put me at some risk of permanent damage/loss of hearing. I have another appointment in a week's time, after which they'll decide what needs to be done. I'd rather the treatment potentially damage me than the infection itself, as these things can go further in and even up and brainward.
As f
So after a huge session on DA I decided to write a journal again.
Health: My last visit to the hospital was encouraging. Infection getting better, on to next (slightly riskier) treatments to try and attack it for 2 weeks, after which I will know more or less whether I need surgery.
Lifestyle/home: I have applied for a Pension and have forms for public housing, as my mental health and drug problems are still a big factor in my life. If I am approved, I will have a bit more money coming in, no pressure to look for a job for a while, and depressing as it might be, public housing, still better than the rat infested hostel I live in now.
Just a quick entry after an exciting week. It all started when I was invited to dinner at the home of a nice young lady, another of my many recent internet dates. She is a film student and very intelligent and sassy, so I figured it would be a good time. It was, but then came the good part!
She called me a few days later, stating that she had cast me in her next short film and I was to appear for shooting on Monday. Not to question a woman with such an immediate interest in me, and also feeling the acting bug at the mention of such an opportunity, I went along after a brief read of the script.
The film is called "Phonecall Shenanigans"
As I have just completed my first 12 months as a member of dA, I figured I'd take some time to focus on some of the artists and their work that have made this a fantastic experience for me. So here we go!
I guess I should start with my very first fave. I never really go back through these much, so it's interesting to create a timeline by looking at my past activity.
The first artist I faved was

I just thought I'd write a quick entry before my fave feature continues - this morning I was once again woken up around 4, and was pleased to discover upon logging on to the internet that my article is up on Damned Society! Here 'tis....

The same thing as I posted here except with purty pictures. This writing gig is a really helpful thing for me at the moment, as one of my main concerns is keeping myself occupied as i continue the life of "the pimp and the pauper"...
Winter is in full force, and I have turned to the goodness of the Asian supermarket for all my supplies to make continuous noodles and soups a
Bile. From yellow, to dark yellow, to dark green, to black. That's what I've done for the last 24 hours or so. HORRIBLE food poisoning, or stomach bug, whatever it was it was just awful. I hate being sick. I seem to be ok now, so fingers crossed I am through the worst of it.
I managed to squeeze out another article the other day for Damned Society. This time rather than complain about movies being remade or reimagined, I decided to have some fun by providing a fictional synopsis of an upcoming remake, hoping that my version is far worse than the release itself. I plan to do a few of these, first I tackled I Spit On Your Grave.
http://ww
After a couple of days away from home, I figured I'd do a quick update. I've had plenty going on the last week or 2 - my third article published on www.damnedsociety.com, and I'm now thinking about expanding my writing horizons and have applied on another couple of websites to contribute articles.
I haven't done a whole lot of art lately, but have plenty of ideas about what's coming next. I'll probably start with some new stickers.
I have just returned home after spending 2 nights with my new friend Bettina, who just returned from Germany, her homeland. Though we have only just met, the romance has been quite immediate and we seem to be
Only about an hour till I head off for a massive weekend! Starting with my comic making workshop. It starts at the same time the Sydney dA gang are meeting for the 10th birthday bash, so I should get to quickly say hi to them before I go in, then join the fracas once I've done (I'll be leaving with printed comix!) I have packed an array of things found under my bed to give away as prizes so it should be lots of fun and a long overdue first devmeet. After that party comes to a close, I'm heading off to a pub with my friend Lara Mascara to see some bands play. Sunday is Xmas in August, my lovely German lady friend is making mulled wine, some ki
Wow, a couple of weeks since I posted a journal, and still have not updated properly, anyway it all went great the other week at the comic making workshop, I'll post a pic once I can get some PS access so I can stick it all together properly. Deviant meet was also fun, though I was only there briefly.
Besides that, apparently today there is a job waiting for me if I want one, I will go find out about it because I am about at the end of the road as far as living in abject poverty and awful shared housing is concerned. I have learned a lot about staying positive and focusing on the important things whilst being this poor, and while a return
As I am having a long session at the internet cafe today, I figured I'd say thanks to all my recent watchers with a feature! I have such an interesting variety of people watching me for various reasons, so lets get a look at ya! I'm going in order from newest first, and keep going back as long as I can be bothered :D I'll select one deviation, encouraging you to go and check their galleries out. Here goes people!

This is truly a new beginning, and a sudden one. Come Tuesday, I start a new job for a company that specialises in training courses for the rail industry. Pretty dull stuff, but it will be totally flexible to start with in terms of how many hours I work, the boss is a really nice older chap who's been in the industry 30 odd years, and there are great opportunities to grow as the company is expanding and doesn't even have a sales and marketing guru (that's where I come in!)
So soon it should be goodbye to the 12 bed room, rats under my bed, spit on the floor, picking up bumpers (aussie slang for smoking cigarette butts found on the street)
Sure, I haven't been around much lately. New job, new lady friend (and this one really seems to be a keeper), plenty going on to keep me busy. It's all going great so far, I need to focus though, as these things have come crashing down in the past, usually for no other reason but self sabotage. Here's hoping the changes I feel I've made in myself are really true, and I can maintain this new beginning and transform it into my life. I do have some new art to upload, should manage this tonight. Also, I have a laptop from work which means the money I save can be spent on a tablet! I'm super keen to get into digital painting, and finally colour AL
Been sending rhymes and poems to my shorty via text messages. This one is her favourite so far.
The wind was blowing cold against my Yankees jacket,
but it wasn't far to walk, so i knew that I could hack it,
I spent a long day working hard for the man,
cause I always do my best to work as hard as i can,
I looked at my watch as it approached the witching hour,
I had ants in my pants like they were full of itching powder,
I was thinking 'bout a girl with a strawberry smile,
She's the kind of kitty that'll stay pretty all the while,
when i saw her walking out after a hard day's night,
I knew I had the medicine to make things right,

Cheers! I do have art but no camera. Bleh. I do miss a fair few of you, just not the site.
Just deleted my over 11,000 messages from when I was away. Thanks for all the people who still dropped by to fave, comment and spam. So I'll start again fresh, and should be back posting and annoying a few of you soon. But got lots going on.
Somehow I feel I should now post something about a new woman in my life, staying off drugs and a bunch of other stuff you wouldn't toss over.... But I won't.
